District Attorney, Vern Pierson & County Auditor, Joe Harn Endorse EDUHSD Board of Trustees Candidate, Todd White

Todd White, candidate for the El Dorado Union High School District (EDUHSD) Board of Trustees, is proud to announce that he has received the endorsements of both, El Dorado County District Attorney, Vern Pierson and Auditor-Controller, Joe Harn.

Joe Harn and Vern Pierson have known Todd for a number of years and agreed that their endorsements of Todd White are a result of watching his ongoing dedication and volunteer service that benefit the youth and residents of El Dorado County. “When Todd was a student at Oak Ridge High School, he served on the El Dorado County Youth Commission and remains actively involved with the 4-H auction and other organizations activities, ,at the annual County Fair. Even during his college years, Todd worked part-time and still managed to find time to serve on other committees. Todd exemplifies the leadership we are all looking for today,” said Harn.

County District Attorney, Vern Pierson, who has children attending El Dorado County schools, said, “I know Todd White is the man I can trust to ensure that my children will receive a well-rounded education, while also instilling those principles and values so needed today, by our young people and their families.” Pierson added, “Todd is fully aware that the current economic situation is far from over and he (Todd) has stated that school budgets, classroom needs and extracurricular programs must be addressed and changes put into place now, those that will prepare our youth for what they will be facing beyond their high school years, in this ever changing climate. As a member of the EDUHSD Board of Trustees, Todd will bring the leadership and fresh approach necessary to accomplish this.”

White, a fiscal conservative, who has stated he will keep classroom and other student needs funded before giving administrative salary increases, is also endorsed by Assemblyman Ted Gaines; El Dorado County Supervisors, Ron Briggs and Ray Nutting; business owner, Gordon Vicini; the El Dorado County Republican Party; and many other business owners & residents.

School Board Priorities

Todd White for El Dorado County School Board

My priorities include:

➢ Providing all high school students with an education that will properly equip them to be successful in their future lives.

➢ In today’s increasingly competitive job market our high school students need to be equipped and encouraged to pursue further education through colleges and vocational programs.

➢ Being a good steward of the resources furnished by the taxpayers of El Dorado County.

➢ El Dorado County residents entrust $65 million of their hard earned money to the El Dorado Union High School District Board of Trustees. It is the responsibility of the Board to manage the district as a business, and effectively deliver education of the highest caliber to the high school students of El Dorado County.

➢ Partnering with community leaders, our State Legislature, and other school districts to reform education at the state and local level.

➢ As California’s liberal leaders and entrenched bureaucracy continue to irresponsibly waste education dollars on a state level, local districts are paying the price. Californians have allowed the State Legislature to give nearly half of our state budget to education, but much of the money does not make it to the local level. It is absorbed by an almost endless educational bureaucracy. Local school districts can no longer sit idle and watch state leaders destroy the California educational system, which only a generation ago was admired by the rest of the nation and much of the world. Local educational leaders need to partner with other like minded school districts to advocate major changes to California’s education policy. It is only when school districts gain more local control of funding and curriculum decisions, that Californians will see a significant improvement to the management of education in this Golden State.
